چکیده
Fish schools are capable of simultaneous linear acceleration. To reveal the underlying hydrodynamic mechanism, we numerically investigate how Reynolds number $ Re = 1000 - 2000 $, Strouhal St 0.2 0.7 and wavelength \lambda 0.5 2 affect mean net thrust propulsive efficiency two side-by-side hydrofoils undulating in anti-phase. In total, 550 cases simulated using immersed boundary method. The increases significantly with number, yet only slightly number. We apply a symbolic regression algorithm to formulate this relationship. Furthermore, find that mirror-symmetric schooling can achieve \textit{net} more than ten times single swimmer, especially at low numbers. highest is obtained 1.2 where consistent observed linear-accelerating natural swimmers, \eg Crevalle jack. Six distinct flow structures identified. corresponds an asymmetric pattern, whereas occurs when symmetric converging vortex streets.

Hydrodynamic Resistance Reduction in Catamaran Assisted Hydrofoils
The present paper contains the test results of a planing catamaran model. The aim of the tests was to study the effect of hydrofoil in these types of crafts. First, experiments were carried out on the bare body (i.e. without hydrofoils) to obtain non-dimensional hydrodynamic resistance coefficient versus speed. Then, the model with hydrofoils, by various locations and attack angles were subject...

In the present paper, the possibility of generation of thin dense relativistic electron layers is shown using the analytical and numerical modeling of laser pulse interaction with ultra-thin layers. It was shown that the maximum electron energy can be gained by optimal tuning between the target width, intensity and laser pulse duration. The optimal parameters were obtained from a self-consisten...
